impact

a dog isn't considered a good dog because they bark well
neither
are you considered good because you talk well!

it's all about the action, impact & legacy

Attitude v Skill

Here's an interesting task
  • list all the attributes of the 'perfect you' you want to be
  • or list all the attributes of the 'perfect person/thing' you're trying to create
Spend as long as you want to compile the list.

Now - go back through the list: try and assign whether the attribute is either an ATTITUDE or a SKILL.

Chances are around 99% of the 'attributes' are 'ATTITUDES'!

the one secret to success is 'ATTITUDE'
  • work through the attributes you 'want'
  • and see what your ATTITUDE mirrors in that.
Do you want to be the best? Are you exploring all avenues of innovation and forward-edge technology exploration?...

thinking...moving...

there's a phrase
"if you're going to think, think big"
HEY
it's the same for movement:-

"if you're going to move, HAVE FUN"

a meatball sundae?

Meatball-Sundae-OLOGY
·      A ‘meatball’ and a ‘sundae’ individually are both great items, however…
·      mix them together & you get a disgusting & ineffective result! (a meatball-sundae… yuk!)

Movement (or kinesis) should be either ‘Ballistic’ or “Loaded”. 2 individually separate forms of muscle action.
Mixing them together is exactly like a ‘meatball-sundae’ and can be described as ‘anti-kinetic’, and just like the ‘meatball-sundae’ ineffective in result & damaging to you (think of the disturbance in your stomach if you gobbled down a meatball-sundae!)

So as a recap: you’re trying to as much work as possible, and that work will be either: ballistic or ‘loaded’

Work is a measure of
·      How much was done
·      How much time was taken
& is calculated by:-
·      How much force was created
·      How far
·      How quickly

secret science

The goal of training is to
·      get as many muscles to work +
·      get those muscles to do as much work as possible
·      …safely!
